Stadium History

Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, opened in 2017 as a replacement for the Georgia Dome. The stadium is home to the Atlanta Falcons NFL franchise and Atlanta United FC of Major League Soccer. Its distinctive pinwheel retractable roof and 360-degree halo video board have made it one of the most architecturally innovative venues in the world. The stadium has hosted the Super Bowl (LIII in 2019) and the College Football Playoff National Championship (2018, 2025).

How to Get There

Located in downtown Atlanta, the stadium is accessible by MARTA (Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority) with the Vine City and Dome/GWCC stations within walking distance. Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is 15 minutes away. The downtown location makes the stadium one of the most accessible venues for the 2026 World Cup.
